Healthier Alternatives
_Another way of cutting down caffeine consumption is through healthier alternatives. Green tea is a great alternative to caffeinated drinks (Stewart, 2011). Green tea contains antioxidants that are good for the body. The small amount of caffeine can help ease the pain of any withdrawal symptoms while being weak enough to avoid any addiction. If teens chose to drink caffeinated drinks for its energy boost, water, enough rest and a balanced diet can be a natural source of energy (Maupin, 2003). Foods containing protein are best for energy since they take longer for the body to break down. The benefits of caffeine can be easily replaced with healthier alternatives without having any side effects to the health.
